Relevant Yield Feature and Information Letter!

Welcome, dear user of Relevant Yield, to the third release of 2024!

Over the last few months, we have been working on a few larger projects that we hope will bring excellent value to you through the product:

  1. Real-time GAM data in HB Analytics
  2. Revenue Type in HB Analytics
  3. Demand Channel in HB Analytics
  4. Improved Net bid-handling through the Relevant Yield Bidder
  5. New and updated API connections for API Insight
  6. Ads.txt and Sellers.json handler in the GU

The release will be made available today and throughout the rest of the week.

1. Real-time GAM data in HB Analytics

We are now showing GAM as a “Bidder” that is on par with other SSPs in your HB Analytics. The GAM bidder is strictly speaking not delivering 100% real-time but is based on roughly 1-2 hours old data and then approximated forward based on historical data (If you choose to use the approximation). You can always see when the latest import was done for full transparency:

The function needs to be activated in order for us to start collecting data through the API, so credentials also need to be added. You can find out more about how to set this up here, or ask your Customer success contact.

Please note that this first iteration is only available for desktop and mobile web, not for prebid mobile-based app traffic. We will look into adding support for that in a later iteration.

What's in it for you?

This is a great way to compare GAM to other demand channels in HB Analytics and gives you a more holistic, real-time understanding of your setup's performance!

You still have the option just to see information about Prebid if you would prefer, or only non-approximated data through the 2 new switches at the top of the Dashboard:

Enabling the approximations will also give you feedback on when the latest “real” data was collected for transparency purposes.

Please note that a few discrepancies might be present, mostly around 0-3%, but it can be up to 10% in extreme cases.

2. Revenue Type in HB Analytics

The new Dimension Revenue Type in HB Analytics will let you see which type of revenue stream created the Revenue.

There are 3 types of streams present:

  • Direct
  • Deals
  • Open

What's in it for you?

Higher granularity and understanding of where revenue is coming from. This metric is naturally beneficial if you import GAM data as a bidder in your HB Analytics.

3. Demand Channel in HB Analytics

You now have the option to see if revenue is created from the Header bidding or the Adserver as a new dimension for HB Analytics.

You can also see when the latest import of Adserver data was done, in order to decide if you would like to use approximations or not in your analytics. By selecting Header bidding only, the revenues from your adserver would not be visible.

What is in it for you?

You will have a better holistic overview and be able to track progress over time of what is generating your revenues—in real time!

4. Improved Net bid-handling through the Relevant Yield Bidder

You can now automatically adjust your Relevant Yield Bidder to always Bid in Net. The  activation of the function can be found in Configuration -> Global programmatic tag ->App / AMP / Adapter specific settings:

This will make the system use the adjusted Net values based on the rev-share you added in the integrations.

What is in it for you?

Making the bidder work with your net values might give the auction holder a fairer understanding of the money they make through the bidder.

5. New and updated API connections for API Insight

We have added and updated several new API connections for API Insight, and here is a list:

  • DSPx
  • Ogury
  • Taboola (Improved)
  • YieldLab
  • Magnite
  • Equativ (Please notice that the new API used here will have slightly different figures as the new API relies on Equativ’s “Instant” reports).

6. CDN: Ads.txt and Sellers.json handler in the GUI

With our new Ads.txt handler, you can easily change and update your Ads.txt or Seller.json files - through the Relevant Yield user interface. You can read more about how you can work with the Ads.txt; and the CDN in general.

What is in it for you?

An easier way for your AdOps team to handle the ads.txt and sellers.json files through the relevant yield interface.

This gives you more control and better actionability; and you can easily review the current version.
