Setting up a new analytics system connection

On July 1, 2023 standard Universal Google Analytics properties stopped processing data. Google recommends to make a switch to Google Analytics 4.

Why should you add an Analytics adapter?

The Analytics adapter brings you a few new metrics for your Ad Revenue Insights Dashboard and Reports, and it also enables this to be used in the statement generation tool. The new metrics are:

  • Page views
  • Page views eCPM

Please notice that depending on the Dimensions selected these metrics are not always available; as not all dimensions are recorded by the analytics systems normally.  Site and date level dimensions should always work with the Analytics data, so that is where the main benefits are.

 

 

How to add a new Analytics system connection:

Simply click Configuration, and then Integrations:

At the bottom right you have the option to New Analytics system and by clicking the button you are moved into a configuration screen, where you can add your connection and data setup structure:

Select type, and give your adapter a name. You can choose which dates to import for, and how the data should be grouped:

  • Group by device category:
  • Group by country:
  • Group by hostname

Verify your account

Due to the newest GA feature update, verification of your analytics account can be only done with "x@relevant-digital.com" emails. If your weren't provided with the "relevant-digital" email, please contact support.

Import Analytics Profiles

In the final part of the configuration, you will select the user who should be connected to the data import, by using that users verification data and select if all existing profiles and automatically add new ones (this would normally be a yes). Please notice that any Analytics data this user has access to will now be imported if you select to tick the "Import all existing profiles and automatically add new ones" checkbox.

Connecting the profile to a mapped website in the Relevant Yield Publisher account section:

Once the data and profiles have been imported, the website profiles can be added to an existing website in your Publisher account. Simply go to Publisher accounts, and select the Publisher/Website, you would like to add the analytics data to, and select it from the drop down:

If you cannot find the correct profile, it is most likely because the profile has not been imported, and have a look at the final step of the setup process, to make sure you import all the available profiles. Once the data is mapped, it should show up correctly in the report/Dashboard Site reporting options.
