1. Relevant AI
The easiest way to describe Relevant AI is to think of it as an intelligent assistant designed to help you with various tasks within the tool. In its first iteration, Relevant AI focuses on three primary areas:
- Provide valuable insights across your data. Relevant AI can analyze data, create reports, and provide cross-references between Ad Revenue (API) and HB Analytics data. It can offer insights on outliers, perform comparisons, and is fully integrated with your data sources.
Every time you query your data, Relevant AI will generate a short analysis accompanied by one or more reports for your reference, providing both a new way to generate reports and a method for you to verify the data sources Relevant AI has used to reach its conclusions. - Provide valuable support as we have incorporated everything from our knowledge base, as well as all information related to Prebid (updated daily). This means you can ask advanced support questions about anything related to Prebid and the Relevant Yield product. As a bonus, you can also interact with Relevant AI in any language you prefer.
- Provide insights from across the internet for Ad-Tech-related questions, such as assistance with Sellers.json, IAB standards, and benchmarks like “viewability in Europe.”
We have made an effort to ensure that Relevant AI always provides data to support and explain its recommendations. Relevant AI will link to sources, issue warnings when necessary, and highlight any inconsistencies it detects in the data it reports on. That being said, this is the first iteration of Relevant AI, and we will continue to improve the assistant by listening to your valuable feedback.
We see many exciting new features emerging from the advanced implementation of Relevant AI, so this is just the beginning,
If you want to know more about how to use the Relevant AI, you can find an introduction here.
What's in it for you?
A great new way to interact with the product! You can ask Relevant AI for summaries, conclusions, or comparisons on your own data, which can be extremely useful—especially for quick insights when you don’t want to create a report or manually apply extensive filtering.
In the help section, you can now access documentation and information directly on the same screen where you’re working. With daily updates to the AI using data from both our Help section and the Prebid repository, you always receive the latest information—delivered straight into the GUI of Relevant Yield. Additionally, the ability to work in your preferred language means you can now translate all the information from both Prebid and our Help section into the language you’re most comfortable with.
Finally, the ability to perform web queries provides a powerful benchmarking engine, allowing you to find information on AdTech topics along with corresponding links. This makes it easier to evaluate the performance of your own data as well.
Tips & Tricks
If you are not used to working with AI prompting in general here are a few simple/general suggestions:
- Keep your questions simple and specific whenever possible—but feel free to experiment! Nothing can truly break; it’s more about getting the right answer.
- If you don’t get the answer you expect the first time, try iterating on your query or question. To make this process easier, we suggest follow-up questions below your answer that might be of interest.
- Always perform a sanity check on the answer by reviewing the generated documentation or links. As much as we strive for Relevant AI to be highly accurate, it is still evolving and improving.
- Please provide feedback on how it’s working so we can iterate on it—this will help make it better for everyone using the tool. The Ad-Tech market and its standards have their own pitfalls and unclear formulations, so it’s perfectly natural for Relevant AI to need time to learn and adapt, much like a person learning about the Ad-Tech market for the first time.
Please notice that the Activation of Relevant AI, needs the acceptance of a Disclaimer, so contact your Relevant Customer Success contact and we will provide you with the document.
2. Floorprice and Price Rules Handling for Ad Servers
We now support complete handling of Floor Price rules for Ad Servers in tandem with Prebid, including the creation of Price Rules for GAM. Please note, however, that this functionality is currently only supported for web.
You can choose to apply your rules to Prebid, the Ad Server, or both simultaneously by selecting the desired option from a dropdown menu.
We currently support GAM, Xandr, and Equativ’s Ad Servers, but we can add support for additional Ad Servers upon request.
For GAM, the process is a bit more complex as it is applied through Price Rules. However, the good news is that we’ve introduced a dedicated UI for building, editing, and removing Floor Price Rules for GAM.
You can set parameters such as the number of rules and their granularity, and keep track of the number of active rules in GAM, as there is a limit to how many rules can be active at once. We also support the activation of Google’s internal optimization, but please note that activating this feature may override the price rules you’re working with in some cases. If you do choose to use the Internal GAM optimisation, you can get data on the performance, through a new dimension, called Ad server optimised.
You can read more about how to use the function here.
What's in it for you?
A great way to control your price rules and price floors from a single location, ensuring there is no unfair competition due to price floor differentiation across different systems.
Activation for Xandr and Equativ is as simple as selecting from a drop-down menu. However, for GAM, you may want to consult with your Customer Success representative—especially if you’re new to Price Rules—since this functionality can be a bit overwhelming and may have significant consequences.
3. Better Scheduled Email Support for Nested zip Directories
This update brings more flexibility in how we handle scheduled reports for the Ad Revenue Insights (ARI) module, making it easier to import data from your revenue sources.
What is in it for you?
A more flexible approach to handling email-based imports of data, allowing us to cover a broader range of sources.
4. Block Ad Refresh Based on Creative Data
The ability to look at the creative return and then make a decision on the ad refresh based on that.
With this functionality, you can add a small snippet to the creative that our tool can then pick up and block the ad refresh. This makes it possible to be very detailed and surgical regarding which line items (and creatives) you would not like to be refreshed—no matter what.
You can read more about it here.
What is in it for you?
A higher level of control over ad refresh, allowing you to be very specific for individual campaigns that you might want to exclude from ad refresh.
5. Shadow DOM Support
We now support running the Prebid auction through ShadowDOM.
It will intercept the DOM access methods needed to find and render slots within the shadow DOM. This may slightly impact auction and render times as it traverses the DOM.
You can read more about how to activate the function here.
6. Allow Alternative Bidder
The ability to use the alternativeBidder function means you can have more than one “bidder source” in your SSP integration. This eliminates the need to clutter your Prebid setup with multiple SSPs, which might be managed by an agency, for example. This functionality is generally supported by Prebid for all SSPs.
Example:
The case is initiated between PubMatic and GroupM, allowing you to add GroupM as a source within the PubMatic SSP. This way, when the call goes out, both sources have a chance to bid. The ID for the “agency source” needs to be added separately, and you can find instructions on how to do that in this article.
You can read more about the set up here.
What is in it for you?
A way to avoid cluttering your Prebid setup with too many SSPs, and still get access to specific agency demand, through an existing SSP in your setup.
7. Turn Off Prebid and Header-Bidding for Specific Placements
With this version of Relevant Yield, we also introduce a simpler way to activate and deactivate Prebid on specific placements within your setup. There can be various reasons for doing this, but it is usually related to seasonal traffic changes or fluctuations in demand, where you may want to easily activate or deactivate your inventory.
Please be advised that different integrations might work slightly differently, so it’s always a good idea to consult with your Customer Success representative. This way, we can help you select the best settings for your particular setup.
You can find out more about how to do this here.
What is in it for you?
An easy way to control where the header-bidder auctions are running and make changes quickly, without altering or disrupting the setup itself.
8. Updates to Existing APIs for Ad Revenue Insights (Formerly API Insights)
We have updated and adjusted connections for:
- Adyoulike
- Index Exchange
- OptiDigital
- ConnectAd
- VLYBY
9. “Message of the Day” Information Banner for the Dashboards
We have added an option for admins to create an information banner, "Message of the Day," to inform colleagues or Publisher/Sales users about an important event. The event can, of course, be "permanent" if you choose not to remove the message.
If you would like to know how you can set it up, you can find some information around it here.
What is in it for you?
A simple and effective way to highlight something that is of importance, that most users should be aware of when they have logged in. It could really be anything; as the information is an open field for your input.
10. Prebid Server Version: 3.6
We have updated to version 3.6 of Prebid Server and provide continuous updates between official releases, so the version is always up to date.
